Level Brands (ticker: LEVB) was a week away from pursuing a traditional S-1 IPO when it decided to switch to the Reg A+ path, according to an interview in Forbes. One reason for the switch: CEO Martin Sumichrast recognized that model Kathy Ireland, Chief Brands Officer and Chairman Emeritus of Level Brands, has a close connection with consumers who could become investors. Level Brands, which raised $12 million in a Reg A+ deal, is in the licensing, marketing, and branding business.
