By IPO Edge Editorial Staff

In an interview with CBS12’s Lauren Olesky, participants at the 3rd Annual Palm Beach CorpGov Forum explained how capital formation and funding of businesses is fueling the economic growth of West Palm Beach, Florida, contributing to its role as Wall Street South. Large investment banks, as well as national and international companies are relocating or expanding their operations to this city, which is no longer a sleepy retiree destination.

Ms. Olesky spoke to Jonathan Feldman, a Partner at Goodmans LLP, who explained that the influx of financial companies leads to more local high-paying jobs as well as new opportunities for wealth creation. Edward Kovary, Managing Director at BTIG, said that investors increasingly prefer to meet in West Palm Beach and benefit from the city’s financial offerings as an alternative to the major city centers of New York, Chicago, or Boston. She also spoke to IPO Edge and CorpGov Editor-in-Chief John Jannaronewho founded the company in 2017.

The 3rd Palm Beach CorpGov Forum, hosted in partnership with NYSE, Goodmans and Goldman Sachs, was held on November 8, 2023 at at the Lake Worth Pavilion and Cucina Palm Beach. The audience was comprised of over 200 attendees including public and private corporations, private equity and VC funds, institutions, family offices, attorneys, investment bankers, other key advisors and select media. The forum’s topics included private equity value creation and real estate, universal proxy season 2024, public markets opportunities, healthcare trends and 2024 prospects, mergers and acquisitions, practical uses of AI, and the present and future of SPACs and IPOs, among others.
