About Derek Macpherson

Derek is a seasoned mining executive with over 15 years of experience in corporate leadership and the mining capital markets, focusing on the junior mining sector. He currently serves as CEO of West Point Gold, Executive Chairman of Olive Resource Capital Inc., and Lead Director of Omai Gold Mines Corp., where he guides strategic direction, capital formation, and investment execution.

Prior to his executive roles, spent a decade on the sell-side as a Mining Analyst and Investment Banker at both boutique and bank-owned investment dealers, specializing in junior mining equities. His career began with six years as a metallurgist, providing a strong technical foundation that enhances his financial and strategic capabilities.

Mr. Macpherson holds a Bachelor of Engineering and Management in Materials Science from McMaster University and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business.
