The in-person interview was joined by Editor-at-Large Jarrett Banks and they discussed how hackers use proliferating AI applications to clone people’s features, the upcoming elections and AI-related threats like deepfakes, among other topics.

Dr. Vijay Balasubramaniyan is the Co-Founder & CEO of Pindrop, the pioneer in deepfake detection and voice authentication. Under Vijay’s leadership, Pindrop has established itself as a leader in voice security, serving 8 of the top 10 banks, 5 of the top 7 insurance companies and some of the biggest retailers and healthcare providers.
Vijay has over 20 years’ experience in engineering and research, previously serving in roles at Google, Siemens, IBM Research and Intel. He holds several patents in VoIP security and scalability, and frequently speaks on voice threats at technical conferences including RSA, Black Hat, FS-ISAC, CCS and ICDCS.
Vijay has been quoted as an expert source in NYTimes, WIRED, NBC News and more. He has been recognized with several awards including MIT 30 under 30, Global Infosec Cutting Edge CEO of the year and Goldman Sachs 100 most intriguing entrepreneurs. He earned a PhD in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology, with a thesis on voice security.
